Happy Independence Day!
What a blessing it is to be able to live in this country, to be able to live in freedom! Let's take some time today to remember what we are celebrating: the fact that centuries ago, the world's beacon of hope and freedom was born through the courage of the Founding Fathers who saw a better world, and were willing to give "their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor" so their descendants could live in it. A special "thank you" to those who have given, and are giving, their service to our nation so we can continue to be free. As President Ronald Reagan once said, "Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same." (Ronald Reagan). So, today, let's all set the political divisions aside as we celebrate with friends and family the fact that we can live in a nation that is still, relatively speaking, so free. Let's be thankful for those who were willing to give it all for our freedom. And let's look for ways to strive to protect freedom in our nation. God bless, and God bless America!
